Art Event: Nefertiti's Daughter Movie

It's amazing what the right images can provoke and how it can bring genuine change and hope. Not to mention the consequences these artists face whenever they go out and make their mark. A really significant, strong feature of the film was the Thousand Nos. The fact that for years this single word has changed in style and size but never so much in meaning. Now a thousand Nos are scattered about and still there are so many who refuse to understand. Eventually, the next generation might create the form of No that finally gets through.

Art is Hard and These are Beautiful...And it is so worth it

Warrior Rodent

The title is weird I know, bu the picture are cute

"Here's an awesome series of original character art created by CGHUB artist Johannes_Holm, featuring a team of medieval rodent warriors. Here's a note from the artist, 'As part of a personal project this line-up comes from a short story that I am currently writing. A medieval world with battles between rivaling Rodents being fought in the forests. Had a lot of fun with it and each one of these guys has a history of their own.'"

Light and Colors

"DestinyBlue is one of DeviantArt’s most recognized and beloved artists from UK. She created a beautiful gallery of sweet digital art and demonstrates masterful command of colors and light while symbolically capturing the essence of each of her pieces."

Wonder Woman has a sister?

Wonder woman has a canonically black twin sister named, Nubia. Can you hear my fan-girl shrieking in the distance?! She originally appeared in the 70s in the first volume of Wonder Woman comics and toe-to-toe with Diana. In the last second of nearly killing her, Nubia withdrew and told Diana she'd be back to really challenge her to the Wonder Woman title. If they ever decide to make a Wonder Woman movie I hope she at least gets a cameo beside her sister.

"Joy"

This artist is really starting to impress me.
Tasha R. Beckwith Fine Art

So young

The artist is only 17 and here I am at 20 learning how to pick up a pencil. Still, amazing on their part.

Nina Simone

HERE SOME NONSENSE TO THINK ABOUT: While Nina Simone has a documentary and live concert movies true to her image and form, good ole Hollywood thought it a great idea to get the lightest woman EVER to play her in a biopic. Regardless look at the art, and shun this movie (not even that Zoe Saldana is a bad actress, she's just bad for the part) If you got to roll a person in deep oil and powder maybe they don't fit the description, try again!

Portrait Study

This might be a two for one deal, photography and digital art coming together. One artist is working on creating a photo catalog: "Humanæ  is a chromatic inventory, a project that reflects on the colors beyond the borders of our codes by referencing the PANTONE® color scheme. The project development is based on a series of portraits whose background is dyed with the exact Pantone® tone extracted from a sample of 11x11 pixels of the portrayed´s face. The project’s objective is to record and catalog all possible human skin tones." And using the internet to be the discussion panel of such a project. And another artist is using this photographs for art study on, recreating these people in through digital brush stroke and color palettes. How cool is that!

Simple in the best way

The artist didn't put much of a description on this piece, but gave it name: "Flower 2 Flower"
It's kind of frustrating when there isn't a detailed who what where when or even an about me on an artists page, but it doesn't really take away from the art.

Acid Trip Blogs

Acid trip/ psychedelic blogs are weird places to be an to me personally come off kind of pompous. HOWEVER, they do produce some pretty amazing works of art, amongst all the nirvana and "welcome to my twisted mind" hooplah. And it moves

Moodboard

If there were an assignment, I would totally do it!

But still here's a moodboard (board with your common interests set to a color scale). And this one is based on being a Slytherin. So, Slytherin common interests and house colors

Real Life Fairy Tales

This artist has done what is essentially being done by Disney now, but in the true sense of hipster: the artist here did it first. From the storybook to the cartoon screen to the big screen, these are a set of actors modeled as classic fairy tale princesses. The artist worked on creating the information sheets and changing the make-up, hair, and clothes of a set of actors to look as if they were the true Disney princesses.
